Uh oh!

I was checking my carbon frame after the weekend, tapping the tubes - ping, ping, ping, thud! I don't like the sound of that, something not right down near the BB. There's no flexing in the frame and no noise when I ride it so I hope it's not too serious, maybe a bit of reinforcement - but it needs a specialist to have a look. Is there anyone out there who can repair carbon frames?

can it be mud and stuff gathering down in the seat post tube while you remove the seat post for transport or something like that?

btw i hope you are not this lad with Merida carbon XC frame and Marzocchi Drop Off dual crown fork ( :) ) i talk to in balinastoe last saturday.

No that wasn't me.

The dull noise is coming from the bottom of the down tube, so it's unlikely to be mud and crap.

I'd really like to get this checked out - anyone know of a carbon specialist out there?

If you can't see any cracks then I would just assume it's ok. You're meant to ride it not check it with a stethoscope!

you can't repair Carbon , Ado..
there have been a couple of attempts but they only ended in failure..just see if its actually cracked or flaking..bring it to The Bike rack or Sprockets in Bray..
