Small Adjustment to an SRAM X.9 Derailleur

Hello,

My chain keeps popping off the large cog in towards the wheel.

Which screw do I turn, and clockwise or counterclockwise?

the one marked L put a half turn on it

Way to remember -
L = large sprocket
Clockwise turn limits movement into spokes
Anti clockwise moves it further into spokes

I'll be doing this at around 11 tonight, outside me house in the rain. So the simpler the better.

Just remember, 1/2 or 1/4 turns...don't go nuts...many people have tried tuning gears only to have the bike burst into flames when it all goes wrong.

check your mech/ drop out is straight once the limits are set you shouldn't really have to change them.

This is doing my head in.

If I set up the limits last night, come back today and they're all off does that mean something is broken?

Also when I click the shifter the mech doesn't respond much but the cable housing comes away from the shifter.

Is it the shifter that's ****ed?

if you need to change the limits you hanger is probalby bent or has been bent and straightened too many times so is flexing like a mad thing. The cable sounds like you might need to flush out your nokons with some degreaser spray and put a new inner wire in.

I have cables (inners and outers) if you want to pop around tomorrow evening. Although with time running out Al might be a better bet.

Went out to the gym to calm down, got back and instantly realised what was wrong : the mech is in league with Satan.

If the mech is in league with satan I think its a quarter turn clockwise to sort that out. Or is satan anti clockwise....Al?

Hold on , I know for a fact Satan uses XT shifters cables and outer, and derailleurs rear...
