Dealing with a UST punctures?

Got my second UST puncture in 4 years or so. What is the best way to repair a small tear in a UST TYRE, superglue a standard patch inside the tyre?

It depends on how big the rip is..?

I've patched up UST tyres, from the inside, with normal patches.. if the rip is small enough superglue works well too..

You can also get needle and thread type kits... the same method of fixing car tyres..

I've gotten away with pinching open the tear and flooding it with superglue on the trail before but I think I was just lucky

andrew fixed my puncture with one of those needle and thread type kits yesterday and it worked perfectly
dead handy to use too

I have used the needle and thread kit before and it actually works quite well... it can take a bit of faffing about if your not used to it, as in you might not get it right first time but it does work..

Definitely worth looking into seeing as the price of UST tyres is a wee bit expensive these days..

Ahhhh for fecks sake....I actually have one of those pluggers but totally forgot I had it on me.....bought it recently, tried it on another riders puncture a few weeks ago but it did not work. Did it by the book but no joy, is there a trick to it?

Anyhoo, it is a small hole so will try a patch.

Fergal, brave man riding with Superglue on your personage, I only have to look at the stuff and I'm covered in it, same applies to silicone and chocolate.

Don if the hole is small enough just glue it closed with superglue. Forget the patch on the inside. The whole point is not having to take the tyre off and get covered in jiz etc! The same applies to the needle/thread kits - you don't have to take the tyre off so it's pretty quick once you get the knack of it.

Funny "games" you lot play down in Wicklow .... covering yourselves with Superglue, silicone and chocolate ...... whilst riding!
