Unless the world has gone mad I doubt very much the duff heater is a fail item.

Punto heaters are know for going splat though, but sometimes it can just be the manual linkage between the knob and matrix that breaks.

ta someone told me it was the heater resistor but was not that

They can't fail you for a faulty heater, unless the wiring is exposed or insecure (fire risk)

cool its the dodgy bulb connector is all thats wrong so ta
