Truvativ Firex crank BB compatibility question

Hey folks,

I have a set of 2009 truvativ firex cranks with external nearing BB.

the BB is done, can the cranks be run with another BB.

I can only seem to find one truvativ BB around the 30/40 euro mark.

any help?

i know its a raceface BB in it but it should work for yours too.

That video is only showing you how to convert a Hope BB to work with the GXP system by using special Hope made reducer shims..

Truvativ will only work GXP bottom bracket's..

Unlike Raceface, Shimano and some other X-type BB's you cannot replace the bearings in GXP cups (as far as I know) due to the floating bearing system in a GXP cup..

Unfortunately Paulo your tied into getting a GXP BB for those cranks.. or buying the Hope BB and reducer kit... which will probably cost you just as much of not more than a new GXP BB.. or buying the Chris King compatible BB's but that'll cost you an arm and a leg..!

I'm wrong... you can replace the GXP bearings without changing the whole BB..

But consider the following....

New bearings will cost you €10 - €20 a set depending on where you get them..

The tool to remove the old and install the new bearings will cost around €60 - €70..
