The evolution of MTB tyres

Ok, here we go another geeky thread!

What tyres were you riding when you started mountain biking? What was the '90s equivalent of Ignitors or Racing Ralphs?

Here are my votes:

The ulimate pair of MTB tyres: Panaracer Smoke & Dart



And IRC Mythos XC, another pair made in tyre heaven:



There was a semi-slick version of them too, which was deadly!

And then whatever Tomac was rolling. Tioga Hound Dawgs. I could never afford the yellow soft compound though.

Smoke and Darts were pretty awesome too. Still have a worn out set on some old wheels.
