Hows a going in need of a shimano chain connecter pin for a 9spd chain,
if anybody in the wicklow has of these baby's ill throw you a couple of quid,
there like gold dust around here need one a.s.a.p.
Perhaps there is something I'm missing but could you just not use the 'Shimano Chain Connecter Pin' and use a Scram 9 speed power link?They only cost pocket change.

It's a different thing dude its just a pin not a powerlink.
Yea I know that but just remove the shimano connecting pin link with a chain breaker and use a Sram power link in its place.
I've doe this before with no issues at all, and if you are the type that likes to remove your chain regulary for cleaning and what not it makes thing far far easier.
I've a pin or a powerlink you can have, I'm in Greystones too, you can get it off me tomorrow, if you still need it let me now, I'll be around the area for most of the day....Jay

Apparently it doesnt work man done a bit of research on the shimano chains and they rely on this special link to give it's strength so if you put one of those powerlinks will just snap again.

I use Shimano chains, I've used the pin before but I only use the sram powerlinks now, never had a problem haven't snapped a chain yet....no bother (...so far), but like I said I have some unused pins here and powerlinks if you want one.
It does work, man. I've used sram powerlinks in shimano for years, man.
apparently, the only reason shimano don't supply them is because they won't pay the royalties..... man...

Think about it..you're out up the mountains or racing and bang your chain breaks..wheres my shimano pin ?
but if you are like me and all the other hard ******* long timers..
A. Always use SRAM or KMC chains.
B. Always have a powerlink taped to one of your brake cables housing .
Your depending on pins that are the size of a tiny sized thing , feckin stupid SHimano Muck..
Shimano should be ashamed of there Hubs and Chains !
SRAm powerlinks will work with Shimano chains. Pay no attention to Shimano Propaganda and people who don't ride a bike everyday..are you mental..Magazines are populated by people who ride a nice bike all the time , some of us however ride nice bikes and crap bikes, because we can and because I actually enjoy that bucking bronco feel of mastering something that at any minute can throw me over the bars and try to kill me.
