Sprockids Friday sessions are finished for the season

Hi..first of all I'd like to thank all the kids and parents for all their help over the past few months.
All the little ones on their striders, the pocket rockets on their little wheels, everyone of them was a legend.
But like all good things they have to end for the moment.
I had hoped to have a solution to Winter by now but unfortunately I've been so busy with the Blast and other grown up stuff, I just havent had time.
But I plan to run a Saturday afternoon spin once a month and a Sunday afternoon spin once a month.
I'll also sort out somewhere for evening skill sessions and some video nights.
We'll use the Winter to get ourselves organised and design Jerseys etc..
So I have not gone away, I just need a break to get other stuff done and then off we go.
Thanks again everybody, I hope i didnt scare too many of you, the improvements in people since the first evening in Shanganah Park is amazing !

Richie
Richie, my Sophie loves her gloves, cheers! We headed to Masseys anyhow and she was a legend - really got the hang of it - so much so she wanted to go back to the shop to tell you! Big smiley head on me all evening.

Sorry we didn't make it along Djouce tonight, but she was a bit wrecked after the afternoon. It's great to be back on the bike myself, and even better that she's able to enjoy it with me.

We'll definitely be along to any kids spins in future. Raging I missed the boat this summer.

Paul
no problem Paul, stay in touch..and keep an eye out for stuff happening over the Winter
THANK YOU RICHIE and CAROL.And all the parents and kids, The kids are truely amazing a credit to you two for all the hard work and knowledge that you have put in over the summer, these kids have gained mountain biking skills beyond ther parents belief .The parents have spent quaility time with ther kids experiencing high,s and lows tears and laughter, and we owe this to you and carol .I have to say myself and lucas will miss our friday nights with the gang riping through tick knock trails and djouce .,did i just write that i cant believe that these kids went from a flat park to the mountain bike trails that us adults ride on.and the kids are on bmx,s and 20 inch wheels and no suspension hard core or what....But its not the end yet the mini BLAST has yet to come and thats when the season ends .....araghhhhhh.........So A MASSIVE THANK YOU FROM ME AND LUCAS you have given us great of 2011 summer memories here we comes sprockids 2012 we love you ye big ginger nut...............
thanks Rasher..
I started this because I really had a problem looking at Matt Adair and Robert Scanlon being the only Juniors in the Country, The London Olympics only across the way and we have nobody to send.
I couldn't let that continue , so I decided to do something about it. I couldn't have managed to do it without the support of everybody..especially Carol.
But all the Senior Riders in Ireland have backed me on this and even strangers have messaged me .
I'm very pleased with the Success of it.
I am especially delighted that after 3 months all we ever had was the occasional cut or bruise.
Not one breakage, not one broken bone or stitch or anything more than a bit of a whinge..
I take that as a testimony to my abilities as a Coach..
I managed to get those kids , some of them only 3 years of age down stuff the adults were nervous of.
And considering the bikes ... Jesus..when I think of Lucas on his " stunt Bike "
Every one of them were brilliant..
I played Soccer for decades and there were always kids that were left out and never picked.
Including myself when I started..even 40 years later I remember how rough that was !
But with this project absolutely every one of them is a champ and I'd be proud to tell people they were taught by me.
I hear you knockin Richie,We will keep it lit ,Lucas asks me every day how meny more sleeps till mountain biking,And i think zaza is the same with her dad...me and zaza,s dad are goin to have to keep the spins up every week or the kids will kill us ......we will have to buy a big box of haribo as well......Every week is a rollercoster on a bike for these kids ...... we will defo be sending these kids across the water in a olympics in a couple of years.....
