Well that was a great success, I though we would be doing well to get 20 kids, we had nearly 30 in the end from age 4 to 12. Great work was done getting them signed on, on the uplifts and ready to roll by 2pm. Richie went up to get them started as I legged it back down the track to cover some gaps in the trail. The track was a mudfest and the kids were simply amazing, everyone of them gave their best with not a winge from anyone. Shona crashed 3 times, her knee pads got a serious workout, but she kept motoring like the rest, they are utterly fearless and bring out the best in eachother.
Thanks so much to the marshals who gave their time to make this happen, it was hard to have eyes on them everywhere which we needed and without you this simply would not have happened. There were some very proud daddies and mummies at the end. Also a special mention to Marc who walked everyone to their stations and to Shona who was everywhere at once. Thanks of course to Damo, Luke and Richie who despite all the other demands of the day were invaluable.
But the stars of the days were the kids, I was humbled and moved by their enthusiasm and courage, well done the lot of you.
