snipers in 3Rock

There seems to be culling going on up at 3 rock. Came across a rambo wannabe who was a bit grumpy to say the least.
Anyway, just warning riders who venture off the beaten track....

tell us more about this lad !! I'm itching for a scrap !!

Just a knob with a camo dress-up costume, who doesn't "do" mans sports.
Instead he wants to shoot something that doesn't shoot back.
I was perfectly polite, and got off my bike, pushing it back the way I came.
He said we were tresspassing, and that signs would be going up next week.
He told me he was going to write to CI about us, because a rider was nearly shot accidentally last week. (Must have been Rudolf).

My concern is that I was 50metres from the end of metro 1, on a bright sunny evening at 6pm. Not ideal hunting ground for some gob who can't tell a deer from a yeti....

In fairness to him those those Yeti's are dear.

Probably a good idea ..... with some gob****e in camouflage, painted face and a big ****in' GUN!!

They are supposed to wear PPE and erect signs in the areas they are licenced to shoot in..as usual everybody but Mountainbikers are allowed run amok in the hills and the only benefit to wearing camo gear is to hide from other humans..animals can see and smell us from miles away..

Maybe we should all be armed next time we're up there?

Where's Martin McGuinness? Surely he'll know where we can get a few rifles!

stewart report him to cops , coillte have regulations for liscensed recreational shooting and areas used for walking\biking etc are not for shooting

I hope I meet this ****..its been 30 years since I disarmed a gun wielding maniac..but its not the kind of trick you forget !

He was up in a tree hide. I came across 2 or 3 well built ladder/platform things while up there.

sweet, I'll have them pulled apart and some top-notch northshore made by the weekend

Is that on a certain switchback climb?
If it is it's not Coillte land. I spotted some Platforms up there last week.
Fergal have you heard anything from Fred?

I've just sent an email into Coillte to see if anyone has applied for a permit.
