jesus..they have some operation going all the same..how do you get to the stage of calling MR, when I think back on the amount of self rescues we have done over the years.
It makes me wonder.
We get berated all over the place for being renegades and dangerous..but how many times have we needed rescuing. A tiny handful , I can only think of 2 ,one was a member of EPICdh so he doesnt count..the other was some poor girl on 3 rock..
What I am saying is , to our critics in the wallking community, we are nearly all better equipped and more experienced than most of you, so next time you see us, be friendly, you never know.

Whats a "technical bivy bag" is that like a bivy bag that can ride an off camber root?
i'm pretty sure its a waterproof cover for a sleeping bag..or something along that line of a thing
Am I reading that right ........ a family of walkers had to be rescued from hiding behind a wall in Djouce? Were they just sheltering from the rain?
I wish somebody had rescued me from 3-Rock, I was ****in' miserable! All I kept thinking was " 2 weeks ago I was riding in the South of France and complaining about the heat and dust ...... Brrrrrrrr!"

Great weather for a family walk... idiots!
I found myself waist deep in water on the bike on the N11 yesterday, wasn't sure weather to call mountain rescue, the sub aqua team or the RNLI. I was cursing my low tyre pressures, 40psi might have kept me afloat.
You'd be ok anyway Don, fat is less dense than water!
My commute home today was feckin class. Nothing like bombing down a forest trail in the dark, rain lashing down and wind howling.

DWMRT are out again apparently..imagine if there was Byrnes Rescue service, i'd have 100% failure rate and the country would be a lot safer and all the MRTs could get a good nights sleep whenever the weather turned to **** !
