its time to admit defeat on what constitutes an adventure race in ireland. can't see multisport ever sticking as a name, its a bit rubbish. gaelforce, etc are determined to be called adventure races

I wish I had such pedant super-powers to be able to kill things off. But I'd pedantically point out that this wouldn't be one of the races on the target list.
(The real reason is probably that the super-goobers who think that they are adventure racers are terrified of mountain biking, and so the race probably didn't get enough interest)
In terms of making much needed money for a charity though who were they targetting?
There are very few mountain bikers who like to run and very few runners who mountain bike and of that vanishingly small number there are very very few who can afford 100e for a race, especially as it's just not feasible to ask friends and family for sponsorship.
The lads who only do one race a year and can ask their friends for sponsorship wouldn't be targetting this race when they do the mini-marathon or a local 5km run.
It does look like it would have been an interesting race. Enduro, you could wear a T-shirt with your slogan "it's NOT a real Adventure Race you know" and the rest of us could agree but continue to call them AR events.
