Some scumbags have taken to knacker drinking up at the tower, they have the place in bits and they have deliberately smashed broken bottles on the first section, be careful of punctures but more importantly don't fall off on to the crap. I will be up there on Thursday cleaning up as much as possible , if anybody else reading this is free on Thursday give me a shout and we can clean up the whole place. Any help would be appreciated. Also, if you are up there and see people lighting fires and knacker drinking, contact Stepaside Garda station or Coillte.

don't even try and ride it, there is a smashed bottle every metre or so for about 40m. There was even one just over the log where your front wheel would land. Caroline had a puncture straight away and Jack got one later on.
there are also 3/4 more smashed bottles when you turn right at the end of the third forest.
It's absolutely unreal, you have to see it to believe it...
you really have to wonder was it the knacker drinkers, they've been up there for a while and never did anything like that before. Somebody has taken to blocking the trail with sticks occasionally but that sounds like total badness.
Can't help Thursday (usual invalid excuses won't be mentioned) but happy to head up after or instead of tomorrow's spin and start a clean up, sounds terrible!
lads, regardless of what club you are in, we can't let this kind of mindless nonsense stop us going there. If you can and you are up there make some small effort to get rid of the glass off the course and far away from the track. That would be great. It would go along way in helping everybody enjoy our fantastic trails there.
I think a lot of people may not see that in time Don ..we'll get it cleared, I have had people from MAD and elsewhere already asking to help. Sometimes a really bad thing has to happen to make people realise we are all in this together and we should be be helping each other out. I'm going to go up there in the afternoon tomorrow to start on it.
