I went swimming this morning in the pool at the Gym..I haven't swam in about 2 years..
I nearly drowned after about 1 1/3 of a length. Much to the amusement of an onlooker.
It took me nearly 2o minutes to regain my technique enough to swim one poxy length without stopping..
Mind you I can now run for 30 minutes without stopping..
I just that i'd share that with you guys !!
As much as I love mtb if a had my own pool I don't think I would ever get out of it. I love swimming, sinking to the bottom and just laying there. Lengths underwater, the silence and calm. There is nothing like it. I stayed at a posh hotel once in St Thomas that had an outdoor pool with an infinity line, stunning, it was like being in a womb with a view.
Oooooh I hate running, so boring, I went for a run along the N11 once, terrifying, I kept having to jump the Armco into the bushes, and if you have man boobs well then forget it.
Byrner you know what you're experiencing is the graw to return to your old hillrunning ways. So get yourself on over to Howth on the 18th for the 1st race of the winter league.
So you say now. By then you might have changed your mind. The subtle but inevitable draw of a hillrun is adding further confusion to your Lemsip-fuddled brain.... ;-)
