Caveman challenge

So Girls, I changed my bike and have to say feels good.
Did the Caveman MTB challenge in the Burren last weekend, my time is still pretty rubbish but at least I have a starting point.
the attached pic, I am almost finished the first lap and that is the winner behind me, almost finished his second! Ah, Rome was not built in a day, where there is a will there is a way!
Only 6 girls entered the race this year, so looking forward to big improvement next year!

well done Olivia, that looks a lot better and you look a hell of a lot better kitted out..some full finger gloves now and that will help you some more, nice one.

at least the girl is taking on board all the advice..you should concentrate on training for the Blitz in Ballinastoe on February the 3rd..aim for the short loop !

Terry, as you can see from the pic, my headphones are not in my ears, so I can concentrate very well! It is actually lonely being a solo rider hence why I listen to my tunes! I would have lost the will to live at the end2end challenge without Rocky 4 soundtrack blaring in my ears! Being last meant I had the very helpful and happy stewart Dan riding with me (the reason why I am not listening to music!) and it was great getting tips from a mountain biker! I learned on the second lap how to stop my back wheel slipping on the rocks at high speed going down hill! I agree with you re the saddle, think it was a little too low.

Is it correct that the Avail 3 2013 is not available till end of Nov? I am on XS on the Talon, will I be XS for road bike too?

i don't think so, the Talon is an XS mans..I have an Avail 3 in Medium, a 5 in XS and a 2 in S, you can try each for size..

I think mine is a Talon 3W in XS - I am a midgit!

All bike shops can hook you up on the bike to work scheme they don't have to have anything to do with the crowd you linked to above.

well come and see me..i have a couple of 2012 bikes on special..as Adrian says any bike shop can sort you out Bike to work, though we prefer not to use the biketoworkpirates.com you will get a better deal using a company credit ,card, bank transfer or cheque..the shysters that run the bike to work sites take 10% off the dealer with those vouchers. Sometimes we have no choice but to use them but they are not necessary, the Government runs the scheme, these pirates convince companys they solve all the hassle of paperwork, etc but its total bollox !

I think the problem is that a lot of employers sign up with one of those companies and insist that staff use them if they want to avail of the scheme!
