Anthem on the road

For reason too depressing to list here all I could do yesterday was hit the road 9am on the Anthem. 60psi and off I went down the N11 to Wicklow, wow, that bike goes like a Rocket on the road! Zoom around Wicklow through Industrial Estates, ghost estates, into Ashford, back via the backroads past a mansion that a German pal in college used to live in. I remember racing around a snow filled field on his sprawling estate over Christmas, me a Pug 205 (1.1!_) and him in a Merc 190 in the dead of night. Then, up around, down any road that didn't look familiar and home. 30km, home with sore legs and clean, both me and the bike. This road lark is not so bad.

This time of year you have take your spins when ever you can... I leave my house in Greystones and up the road towards Bray, over Windgates Hill take a right turn after the bus stop, up the lane and over Bray Head. There is a nice downhill section from the Cross down the back of the Golf Course. Back on to the road and back towards Greystones, a right turn near the top brings you towards Glen of the Downs GC, a loop of Kindlestown and then down the lane for a loop of Glen of the Downs.
Another nice downhill section and into the lower car park. Down the N11 and head for Delgany, take a left just before the old Delgany Inn and up the 2 miles of Kindlestown Hill (Killer Climb) and then downhill all the way home.. a nice spin and its on my doorstep....
That's a hefty enough spin Joe, I rarely have the time to do them all together, more often opt for one quick route or the other....you should have your spin on strava Don, you may as well be racing somebody online if you're out on your own and have a gps gizmo....strava thinks I went out twice yesterday because I went out after midnight, yes I'm usually the only weirdo up there at that kind of hour.
I don't need Strava, I do it old school with gmaps. I recorded between 20 and 30 minutes heading south on the N11 between that roundabout and the turn, or the tree, that's my target for next week.
