There was a small Dublin contingency for the last enduro race of the year, but at least epic was the major contributor: with Jack, Orla, Gary, Max, Smithers and I.
The whole race of blind, although sunday was very similar to previous races while Saturday had 2 short stages to seed everyone, Orla and I had no problem being seeded as there were only 6 girls, but Max and Smithers got seeded no problem. I face planted onto a fireroad from a very steep drop and poor Orla ended up riding on top of me, as these times counted toward the next day things weren't looking great.
Jack and I both took a wrong turn on stage 1 so I was really out of the running at that point. only realising afterwards that we should ahve gone straight back up to re-do the stage. Anyway live and learn...
Rest of the day was basically being out of breath from peddley stages or savage climbs, but the weather/craic/people was great so we all enjoyed the day. Smithers had a crash on stage 4 so only got 4th in his category and I think Max was 2nd or 3rd.
All in all it was a super weekend, Max, Jack and I stayed in one of the lodges with Scott and his dad and it was super value, and there were plenty of other riders in the other cottages. I'd definitely recommend staying at these if you are heading down next weekend.
