MTB in Wicklow

Hey lads listen I might be heading up to Glendalough soon and I am just wondering are there any singletrack trails up around there. I would prefer more downhill stuff but I don't really mind a bit of XC. I would probably be on my hardtail. I'm just really looking for some fun trails!!! Ha.

Also I heard some lads saying that the area is out of bounds. Is this true and why cause its such a great location.

Hi Joey, Glendalough is a National Park area and an for all intents and purposes is one big area of Special Conservation. Mountainbiking is prohibited there at the moment, however talks are underway between MBI and the national parks and who knows, in time we might be able to ride their again with permission. its not in our best interests or anybdy elses to ride in The national Park. If you are caught by a Ranger you will be fined.

Trooperstown Hill is close to there and has some stuff worth riding or just going exploring. Carrick Mountain is a few miles further east. Both likely to be messy until the entire county dries out a bit though.
