Doing this Enduro thing up in Carrick this Sunday! Practice Day 1 today, first 4 stages were open. Great fun watching the pro's dance around stuff that scares us mere mortals. There's a really techy section at the start of stage 2, proper fcuk it up and break your collarbone stuff (1 persons race ended today doing that). Stages 5,6 and 7 tomorrow, 6 being on the DH track so looking forward to it and fearing it too! Great weather so far and AVDL is flat out taking pics.

What a day, I am shattered, toughest and best ride ever! I''ll throw up a report tomorrow, night, night.
Great result - ahead of a lot of very good Enduro riders!!
What a weekend, I'm still smiling after it, really tough day, people all over the course cheering and roaring! It was a mental challenge to block out the people to hit the tech sections and survive, the climbing seemed endless at times, 50k total for the day and 1850m of climbing. I had Colin Ross a minute behind me, he an ex Irish world cup DHer, really nice person and scary fast(26th overall!) so I kept pushing all day, I told myself to keep going all day, don't let him catch you! The person in front of me was a little slower and I got caught behind him twice but he was my carrot all day so I think that balances it out. I had great support all day which was magic, great to see the epic crew up at the top of Stage 3 and even better to get through it clean when all eyes are were on me. The last two climbs were really tough and I was really loose on stages 6 and 7, my body was too tired to control the bike, i threw caution to the wind and kept my speed up and managed to hold on! Incredibly, I had no spills, my scariest moment was on the top of stage 7, I'm sure most of you have seen the FB video with the slow mo and music, what a buckaroo moment! Great result for me and I was ahead of a lot of my peers so I'm chuffed. Sadly Adrian wasn't racing after fracturing his wrist a few weeks ago. Mick and Jack raced well, both were buzzing at the end, Shona is now the 30th fastest woman in the world, just behind the super sexy Hannah Barnes! Man of the day was Greg, hard not to be emotional as he hugged his dad surround by hundreds of roaring supporters after taking the win. Many thanks for the wild card, I actually wasn't going to race this after being so sick last year but I'm so glad I did, it's given me great focus over the last 6 months and I'm an all round better biker even though I'm not fully fit so massive, massive thanks to the club. Most of all, I'm almost 40 and having the best fun of my life bouncing around on a bike, taking in the views and living life, yeeeeeeeooooooowwww!!!!
Haaaaaa Stevo when you it like that that sounds amazing!!!! I was the top Irish lady but mostly to the other snorting themselves or their bike . But I guess surviving the day is post of the whole race.
I really loved yesterday, the crowds were incredible except at to of stage 7, where they were just too close to the track and I freaked out and had to bail. Apart from that i got down everything!

Absolutely Shona , staying on the bike and getting to the end in one piece is a part of the challenge so fair play. Steve was flying again just look at the times and some of the riders behind . Overall an incredible weekend of biking . Brilliant organisation , great weather and crowds and a terrific result for the Greg to cap it all off.
Well done guys, unbelievable stuff! Stevo just outside the top 100!!! Shona keeping great company with her result also, Jack, Mick and everyone else! Awesome day/weekend for Irish Mountainbiking and I think with the weather and the crowds there is no doubt that we will have more chances to host world class events of this nature. I couldn't make it down myself but I was glued to all sources of media trying to keep up with the goings on. Well done again gang
