Just finished practice, really tough climbing in transition, a lot of tricky trail centre stuff, a cracking steep tech section on stage four and a DH run on 5, steep and proper scary, tougher than any Emerald Enduro stages, will reduce some riders to tears tomorrow, bring it on!

All done and dusted, weather was pretty good on the day luckily enough, had an off about a minute into the first stage, plenty of cuts and grazes, two fcuked up fingers and a broken dropper post, not an ideal start on my podium quest! Lost about 30 seconds on that stage and when i got to the end I must of looked rough cos the marshal wanted to call the ambulance, told him not to bother and I'd much prefer if he could call a mechanic to fix the dropper! Energy was zapped for the rest of the day so struggled on anything pedally but on technical stuff I was fine, managed 4th in my class yet again which was great after the crash but no podium picture! Shona was just shy of the podium in 4th too while Mick was buzzing after beating Jack, great buzz and banter up the with the Nordies. Will we see Erica at the next one? Next up is Djouce in a few weeks.
I think Mr Enduro is still recovering from yesterday so a quick report for anyone who's interested !. Myself , Steve , Jack and Shona made the trip up north to Rostrevor for another full on weekend of biking. The race had everything, tough transitions, 'black' trail centre runs, tricky techy stuff and one sketchy old DH run but overall real fun biking. Steve was flying as usual but unfortunately had a bad off on stage one which almost certainly cost him a podium and left him with a nasty looking calf and a couple of hurty fingers (on top of a sore shoulder from the last race). Nevertheless he battled on bravely to still record 4th place, some savage !. The rest of us all had solid enough results in our cats , up against a lot of locals with home advantage. The atmosphere in the race village was brilliant and the weather held up well with nice post race sunshine to chill out in. All in all a great weekend. Next one -Djouce July 25/26.
