Gravity Enduro Carrick

So, the last Gravity Enduro of the year and its back to the Carrick for some dusty fun and those hellish fireroads. Who is going? Lets hope Niall mixes it up and uses some of the new EWS trails.

Trails bone dry today on the practice runs. All trails are deadly. They saved the best till last .

Yep, savage conditions once more in Carrick, its a mix of old Gravity and new EWS stuff which makes for 5 super stages of technical riding, without doubt the best stages of the year. It doesn't get more fun than this!

What a weekend of racing, without doubt the best trails of the year mixed with perfect conditions. Was feeling good on race morning and pottered up to Stage 1, I always look into the distance at the start of each run as part of my relaxation technique to calm the nerves, and low and behold the mountains of Wales were looking back at me, what a view! That stage went well, up to 2, hit the technical section well, then onto a straight gully and bang I'm on the ground, no idea what happened but ended up pulling down my right kneepad and ripped up my knee, still stinging like fcuk! It only cost me about 15 seconds and after a good but painful scrub and some bandages at the finish I was good to go again. Stages 3 and 4 went well and Stage 5 was just savage, flat out down the DH run, so much fun, scary brilliant fun! Got to watch the pro's come down 5 too, some talent there with the likes of Greg, Dan and Rosco fighting it out. I ended up 7th in my class on the day and just missed out on a podium in the overall series. I had a blast doing these, I've had a bad run of crashes on the last few races which messed up training a bit but still I'm happy with how I've done and even happier that I feel I can still go faster.

Brilliant racing. Best two days on a bike in my life. All stages were deadly. Felt bit all over the place and not particularly fast but finished 22nd in my group which isn't too bad. Coming into my first season of mountain biking was hoping to snatch few points but amassing over 70 and finishing the series in 26th place exceeded my expectation. Next year I'll be chasing #timmons hard
