Mountain Bike Orienteering League May 2016

Four MTB Orienteering events happening in May.
They're great fun and well worth trying even if you only ever do one.
I'm running some navigation training sessions for anyone interested in taking part, email address below.
I have map boards for bikes and compasses that people can borrow, there's no other additional kit needed apart from an SI card that you can rent on the day.

I think so too. ANd it might be a good way to get to know the areas a bit better.
Has anybody ever done any orienteering? or a bike?
I would just hate to go and spend most of the day lost

Richard, it's different to regular mtb racing, but you'll find that it is actually enjoyable!!

Terry, not sure about the garmin, can be used for tracking for post event analysis but not for nav during event

Tomorrow's Mountain Bike Orienteering event cancelled due to issue with permission.
Next week's event has moved to the Curragh. 3 lengths of coures:
Short 2km 8 controls, intro level for complete novices or those looking to practice before riding other course.
Medium 9 km 16 controls SportIdent timing
Long 18km 27 controls SportIdent timing
