NAM is a weekend event, which starts Friday evening and runs
through to Sunday lunchtime. There are 10 individual stages
including two night stages.
NAM is a combination of several disciplines, including Navigation
and Orienteering, Mountain Biking, Paddling, Mountain
Running as well as Team Initiatives and Rafting.
what doesn't tell ya is that NAM includes two nights on the beer (if you wish), two sleeps in a bed, all your food, all equipment except bikes and a lotta fun.
Putting the raft together from sticks and barrels and then watching it fall apart from under you has to be seen to be believed.

it's all in the buzz man, the Cappaneala adventure centre website probably has information or googling national adventure marathon pulls up some stories from back in the day.
I presume they have a web slave working flat out on a website at the moment. Once I get it I'll let ye know.

During the last summer I was in Cappanalea for a week and it was great craic! I didn't see anything about mountain biking. But still the other activities are great fun, particulary the rock climbing!

You'd want to be careful around there, every summer the natives go out and hunt down and capture a wild long-haired beast and put it in a cage on top of a pole in Killorglin for a week.
