Thinking of it too might have a birthday that weekend just waiting for confirmation.
Great event really well run and a serious spread after, showers, bike wash. Lovely part of the world too

Yeah, it's worth travelling down for.
No CX race near Dublin that weekend, so the CX'ers can get some MTB miles in!

The Nire Valley Drop is a cross country mountain biking sportive over a tough course in and around the lower slopes of the Comeragh Mountains in the Nire Valley that challenges both rider and machine. There are few places where you encounter nature in the raw. There are even fewer places where you and your bike can challenge nature knowing if you don't tame nature, it will tame you!
In years to come when all is forgotten the whisper of the words 'Nire Valley Drop' will get your adrenaline pumping as you smile and say "I was there too". With routes of 30k, 45k and 55k there is something for everyone. There are also many cut off points which allow people to tailor the course to suit themselves.
Sign on and registration takes place in the Ballymacarbry Community Centre with plenty of parking nearby. At the finish destination, enjoy hot showers and homemade soup with brown bread and all manner of confectioneries which have now reached legendary status and provide a very welcome reward for everyone at the end of the event.
