Killarney places to stay and Ballyhoura
I stayed in this place for last years DH race. Its nicer than some hotels I've stayed in and plenty of parking. Owners are very nice

Dont think there's too much near Ballyhoura's Richie....
Maybe stay in Cork and travel up. It's about 1 hours drive.

There are some wodden huts you can rent beside the rails, they are beside a hamlet with a pub that seams to have its own interpretation of the closing time rules.
I think this is the place The Happy Fairy is on about. I've stayed there too. Great spot if there is a few of you. Should get a good deal this time of year too. Kind of huge though if there is only 2 of you. Close to the trails too.

What about Kilfinane ? I want to go somewhere I can get a good table at a restaurant...after all, Its the President and Chairman of Irelands biggest, sexiest and most talented mountainbike club , we're talking about here..

Kilfinane has little to offer in this sense, below is a list of alternative places to stay:

And finally Bruff, the old bank hotel, small village, driving from Bruff head to Kilmallock and onto Ardpatrick (Foothills of the Ballyhouras, 30-40 mins.

There's a B and B in Ballyorgan called Lantern Lodge. Its 5 mins ride from the trail head. The ladies name is Frances, phone 06391085. Four of us stayed there over Christmas, grand place - though you would have to share rooms....And a right big feed for breakfast.....They are used to bikers and have storage etc...
The local pub is straight across the road, as in about 10 seconds walk.
Big advantage in my view to be able to ride to/from the trail head and not have to mess about with loading bikes on cars.
You would still have to head for Kilfinnane for eats though, not unless you could persuade Frances to cook the dindins for you.
