Really wasn't felling the love for racing on the way out in the pouring rain.
And then standing around in the cold calling start times, but once I got going after the first lap I actually started to enjoy my self and by the end I was buzzing so much so I dragged Alfie back over 3Rock for a spin home ๐๐๐

Really enjoyed that thank you Erica , Richard and Ben. listening to Ben pronouncing irish surnames was enjoyable at the start. Headed off with Smithers and Ray great to see these lads after so many years , the boys burst off at the start and i was slipping back but managed to hang on untill the end.Lucas had a great race i thought he would only be able for 2 laps but managed the 4 very impressed with his determanation to finish with the main group at the end....always a pleasure to be up in the hills on a thursday with you lot, see you next week.

Well, that was magnificent. I always think leaving the house 'am I nuts?' It was lashing rain, and I was soaked only to realize 2 km from the house I forgot my bottle, so had to go back for that!
the climb up from Rath Michael was a river - so that was a precursor to the conditions we were to experience. It was funny every time I'd come out of the end of section 2 i'd slip out on the front wheel !!! eejit. It was great to see the new folk as well, giving it a good lash, and the fast lads, well, being fast. Erica is a fast lad, she left her start time group for dead and I don't know how she stayed up with those slicks. Legend! Good dice with her and Keith. Lovin' the league. (but it is hard after a 200km round trip and a days work - excuses!!!!)
That was a fantastic race, great to see all the great people once again, I didn't get to say hi to everyone, but it was great to see you all. Thanks to Ben and Erica, Harry and Richard, thanks for the encouragement and the cheers.
I second Harri ! It was a magnificent night - I more or less slipped and slid the whole way around 4 times. Wheels were caked in mud .
After cycling up I just about made it for my start time so literally just kept on going - the warm up didn't really seem to help me much though! Was just delighted to keep going for the 4 laps . The cycle home was loooong.....

Thanks Erica, Ben, Harry and Richard for another great club league race, Conditions were a bit slippy so lots of fun slidding around. Great to see everyone including Ray & Smithers back again, well done lads. Lots of new faces and people I still have to meet, plenty of time for that over the next few weeks.
Unfortunately I'm not able to make next week, please put me down for starter duties the following week, 11th May, see ye all soon!
Thanks to all the timers. Challenging conditions in the wet with xc tyres - I've got too used to grippy enduro tyres! Rode the long route home afterwards. Wrecked today.
Great fun last night. Iรขยยve still some way to go to be able for push hard for 4 laps, and I watched Erica, Brendan, and Harri slowly disappear from view.

It was a major job to wash the mud out last night. Roll on round 3, and maybe even some dryness. Iรขยยm convincing myself my lap times will be spectacular once the mud goes away.
Thanks to EPIC for a great race yesterday - and all the timers Erica, Ben, Harry and Richard. I might be back and you should come to Slade one of these Tuesdays and have some craic/pain (you choose) with IMBRC
