Gaff of the day ....

Before the start of the race yesterday I was approached by some bloke in "Matching Lycra" who explained that I was on the same team as him and was wondering what my tactics for the race were ... "To get to the bloody finish of course!".
There he was again at the finish looking like he hadn't stepped on his bike (probably retired I thought!). "How'd you get on?" I enquired, still buzzing because I managed to get to the end, "Oh I won" he replied ........ Sorry Joe I'll recognise you the next time!!!
and your qoute of the day Richard:
"Oh God, you MAD b*stards are killing me" as you crested the 2nd last climb
with the red head of death on ya but still flying along...
It just seemed to me that every time I fell out of the forest, from some difficult technical section, there was a "Mad Marshall" waiting for me with a big cheery smile pointing me up yet another hideously steep fire-road!

It was our positive attitudes that got ye all around! The amount of times i was telling people ... only another 10 minutes .. just one more tiny climb ... no no, no technical bits left ... sure you don't need a front brake for this next bit ... its only a little blood ...

Keeping a straight face was the hardest bit of my job :)
Yeah, funny all right. I was in my civi's. I thought you seemed a bit distant, I put it down to adrenilen.

Next time we'll have you right on the bubmper of the boob truck, elbows out, screaming at the walkers....'get outta the way'......thats the spirit!

Did I mention the race was class?!
And I didnt win, I was first o cross the line. the real winners are all the kids, or something!
