Just finished my first ever mountain bike spin and hooked. But before i'll be able to go on any of the club spins I need to do a good bit of practice. But it's no fun going on ur own.
Was wondering if there are any other novice/beginner mountain bikers who would wanna go for little spins.
Use this thread to post any outings that are suitable for beginners.
I'm interested too ... I struggle to get the time off work , i work mad crazy hours but only available Tuesday this week unfortunately.
Keep this post goin with days people are interested and i'm sure we'll soon get as good as Byrner and hid utterly savage crew !!!
Seems like theres a few people who are intrested in the idea of getting together 1 of the days then. There has to be an experienced rider who can shows us a track or 2 though if theres anybody who will do that for us that'd be great.
well..Jackson is a local experienced rider who can show you around and while he is a redneck..i think you'll be safe enough !! I've stuck the thread, if theres any other senior riders available it might be a good idea to tag along and give jer a hand

all are welcome on this spin but it is aimed at beginners.helmets are compulsory,we'll discuss other essentials on the day.the pace and terrain will be gentle to begin with,we'll get harder and faster after a few spins.yes i am a redneck and proud,i couldn't be local and non red necked,dont be intimidated i'm actually very cultured.this spin is a bit of a drive from drogheda as someone asked.any other questions just post them here.
Was up there tonight for a spin, the track is fun but not too hard, it is fast though. The Midges were out in force tonight, I can still feel them nibbling away at me, met a few lads halfway up who were heading back as the midges were too much, so be sure to bring some repellent.
Where is this spot your all meeting at? new to the site, new to all mtb locations. Don't mean to be a pain but would like to join you all on a spin 1 of the days.
Does anyone go up to Ravensdale at all? Need a guide around may get lost or eaten.
It would also be a good idea to bring some cycling glasses, spent most of last night trying to wash midges out of my eyes.
Ballinastoe would be about 1-1.5 hours from Drogheda, Its in Roundwood in Wicklow so you'd have to get around Dublin first. easiest would be M50 until it joins the M11 then turn for Glendalough at Kilmacanogue follow the road up the hill until you see a sign after about 5mi turning right for Sally Gap go up this road a bit and turn right heading back towards Enniskerry, Ballinastoe is a bit up the road on your left after the golf club.
