Beginner

Hi,

just seeking a bit of info about stating up in the sport.
would love to know what bike to get and where to get it!!ive looked in probably ever bike shop in dublin so i have information overload. for some reason i liked the giant xtc 4 is there better ones for the price??
budget is approx €700

That's a great bike, sure didn't I buy one meself. Cheapest you'll get it here is about €700, but I got mine from Winstanleys in the uk for €525. you won't beat that!

Oniy €538 including postage to Dublin,better than €700 in the local shop

yea had a good look on the site sum great deals...would i be better off getting the xtc 3 then seen as i budgeted for approx 700 and the xtc 3 is a good deal on there too??

only worry is after sales service etc who would i get to service the bike and does it cost much??

If you're anyways handy you'd be well able to service it yourself, that's what I'm doing and the wheels haven't fallen off yet! As for spending your €700, have you got helmet, shorts, shoes and pedals, they're gonna cost ya the guts of €200 so is the €700 for the bike alone.

Thats a good point, having the bike is one thing, getting the other stuff after can start to add up, try and plan it in all in would be a good move.

I think those Giants come with pedals so you won't have to worry about those or shoes (stick with flats of starting off), so start with shorts, helmet and gloves and build from there.

i know the helmet gloves etc would be necessary but what kind of shoes are you talking about ones that clip onto the pedals is it??

Yup, those are them, SPD's. Don't worry about those when starting off.

well guys i took the plundge and finally got myself a bike. went for the xtc 3.5 got it at a good price so im happy enough.
