Big Vinnie

I had reservations about it when I saw it first, but the revised chicken run provided a safe option. It was a great jump and was enjoyed by loads, well done Vinnie and Skip, a mighty erection. Ashamed that I never rode it it and was suitable jeered for using the chicken run, Luke egged me on for the final, but with the wife and kids looking on I couldn't risk it.

Speeking of chicken runs all the goobers that did the chicken run on Bon and Roos gulley should be ashamed, that wasn't avoiding danger, it was just saving time. On the final run no one infront of me did it, but in respect to the lads I did it every time. Clo said people just tore through the tape. Shame indeed.
well whoever was marshalling wasn't doing their job, i sent Cathal up to back them up for the main Blast !!
Next year there will be a massive hole with a big heap of spikes in their !!
Every year i get reports of people going straight to save time, it makes me sick and defeats the whole reason for running the Event.
If they are that ****in anally competitive they should consider taking up XC racing, then ,that would be way too hard and they would be found out quick.
Its much easier to cheat in whats essentially a fun event !!
Big vinnie was a real buzz for any of the non DH jumping gang but it was safe as jumps go pity it will have to come down.As regards to tape crashing on mattock express there was gangs doing it so you all know who you are.Any clown can ride straightline fast so dont credit yourselves with high places in the blast if your guilty.Ive done all the blasts and this one the best yet.Yesterday was a great day to be a biker and an Epic member well done everyone.

I was the same, followed the dudes in front of me and went straight both times and never even knew the other line was in use this year until I saw some pics. Then again both times I nearly crashed into the lads in front who ended up slip sliding down the grass.
Just think if u nailed it in front of them ur manly ness would have been completely proved you'd be a hero to your kids and there would be no more housework and more time to ride your bike. It was madness not to try

True, but if I had failed I would be a looser to my kids, my wife would lust after Luke and my resolution after St Annes to keep both tyres on the ground at all times would have been broken. Besides I am super fast through chicken runs, I have them mastered.
I was sure you were going to ride it Don....you had yourself lined up for it during the heats but changed your mind at the last second
Bad move buddy now she knows your weak and will give you menial tasks as punishment. If you suceeded you could play the horn of eldorado before you go biking and after.
Don get back up there and do that jump. Your life will not be complete

I just went for it, had a massive crash and nearly wiped out a few spectators, it was worth it for the cheers! I take it there was a video camera there, I'd love to see if I looked cool for even a split second before i hit the ground!

In fairness to them they didn't break any tape, you could just whip around onto the old line as it was only taped onto the grass hump, not down to the bridge. And its not about saving time its about scalping the six lads infront of you who didn't spot the line, while avoiding t-boneing the lad coming off the ramp.
