Riding style is killing my ribs

Heh, heh, this is a doozy. I am repeatedly smashing my ribs. Here's how it happens, on steep technical bits I am getting my weight way back, so the saddle is now mm away from my 6 pack/ribble area, then I catch an obstacle that forces the bike up and pow, socked in the ribs. It's getting tiresome, third time in 6 months and it's always slow to heal. Short of wearing some kind of kevlar jacket, or buying a saddle made of jello I'm stumped as to what's going on.

Does this happen to anyone else?
Can you not put your seat forward a bit? or drop it down a small bit, maybe a gravity seat dropper?
I always thought Richie would be great on technical support -

Caller: Hello, technical support, yes I'm having trouble with Vista on my Inspiron....

Support: I wouldn't piss on your Inspiron!!

Caller: Sorry...hello...is this technical support?

Support: Feckin right it is, have you plugged it in you spa!

Caller: Excuse me, can I speak to your supervisor?

Support: You could if he wasn't unconscious at my feet!

Etc.
yeah sometimes on a Sunday after I've had 2 Bottles of Chateau de Boobies from lidl , a couple of Morrocan Woodbines , 3 or 4 glasses of Dubonnet and 4 packets of crisps the night before I struggle to keep up with Damo.
What can I be doing wrong?
Your leaning back to far yeh eejit!!!!!!!!! Take the saddle of all together and it will punture your lung then the rib thing wont seem as bad simples!!!!!!!
And here was me thinking I was going to get some good advice, support, and maybe even a hug. Yiz bastiches!
Do you really need to get your ass so far back? Just how steep are the trails?

Whoa steep?

It sounds to me like you need a new bike!
About this steep, and I have a new bike on the way, it was less than €100 from the Amazon!
Don, assuming you really are getting your weight properly back (you'll know this when the almost pleasant buzzing of tyre knobbles on sac starts becoming painful), the problem would appear that your saddle is not high enough. Raise it slightly and you will no longer whack the back of it with your ribs. You'll probably get it with your chin instead, but at least your ribs will be fine.
Jasus this is like the MBUK forum. When you ride that far back does your skirt not get caught in the chain?
Ever since you sold that polish 5 series you've been getting duller by the day.
Unless you're on the Ewoks this really shouldn't be an issue!
