After a great mornings biking up in Cloon on sunday, i went back to my car, put the key in the lock and found that my central locking wasn't working, i thought no problem just the servo frozen,( it was very cold) i went around the otherside and the same.
Yesterday the central locking still wasn't working so i decided this morning to have a look at it, i opened the door and spotted that on the inside, near where the door hindges are, the wires going in to the door were broken (9 wires), i though ok, old car, brittle wires in the cold, just snapped - WRONG -.
I checked the other side and the same, they had been cut.
Now i rang a friend of mine to tell him about it and he said that what the scumbags are doing is sticking a hacksaw blade down inside of the gap where the door hindges are and slicing the wires, 9 times outa 10 this shorts out the wires and opens up the central locking. Fortunatly for me all they managed to do was blow the main fuse because i had over â¬100 in cash in the car, along with my phone, mp3, loads of tools and a sat nav.
Please be carefull if your going out on spins over Christmas people, don't leave anything of value in your car, take it with you cause these fcukers will go to any lenghts to get it, fcuk i mean you could hardly drive up the road into Cloon it was that frozen and yet these cnut still spotted and opportunity.
(unless of course they knew we were going to be there and in that case you might be reading this post so here's your warning, if i catch you i will fcuking kill you, scumbags)
Yeah, it's a known trick. transit rear doors are the same. Cloon is known for thieving bastichis. One of the lads had his Catalyctic converter nicked off his car there.
Yea, that's happened to the rear door on my landcruiser, fortunatley they didn't get in as there was a grands worth of tools and machines in at the time.
That's interesting... the central locking stopped working in a car I had a loan of, I parked it in djouce one Sunday, it was lashing rain, was the only car there, all that was in it was an old pair of runners, I never thought to check the wiring loom coming rom the door.
But yeah, Cloon is dodgy, we've had a few cars done there, also Djouce, Hellfire, Ballinastoe
i can organise a remote cctv system that has its own power supply and records to an SD card. all we do is leave it pointing out the back of one of the cars and press record before we head of on a spin...then we can see what being going on in the carpark when were away!!

What pisses me off the most is that i'm gonna have to strip both door cards out to get at the wires to extend them to get the central locking working again, reason being is that my petrol filler cap is also opertated of the central locking, so unless i break the cap off, i can't put petrol in the car.
