I have gone through 4 bikes since 2006. I bought 3 bikes from Wal-Mart and 1 bike from Academy Sports. Today, I have no bike. Why? They're all broke. The bikes I bought from Wal-Mart handle bars came loose and a paddle broke. I kept having to tightend the screws up for the handle bar. The bike I got from Academy Sports brakes became worned. When I tried to fix it, the wires broke. Igave all those bike away rather than take them to a repair shop. I guess it doesn't pays to try to save when buying a bike.
Now that I'm in need of a new bike to take me through the winter and on to Miami when I relocate, I'm not sure where to purchase a GOOD bike. Any suggestions? I specifically want a Mountain BIke. Road bikes are not good for me. I bought one for $300 and it caught flat the same day. I took it right back to the store.
