More roads in Wickla???

Is it possible to get to Cloon? I would have though not, but you never never know, sun spots and all that.

i take it you can't get to Djouce either so !

Took a spin around this afternoon.

Cloon is manageable in a car as I saw a couple up that way today but I wouldnt recommend it as there were a few dodgy spots. Parking up there would have to be on the entrance side as you wouldnt get a car out of the carpark on the far side.

Djouce is worse and the long hill up is pretty bad. I tried the jeep in two wheel drive and it didn't want to know. The carpark is under 9" of snow. Also the overhead barriers appear to be about 2" lower so watch it in big yokes that only normally just clear it.

Kindlestown probably isn't worth the effort, Just park at God just off the n11. Nice parking by the way Basil, she's well stuck indeed.

Everywhere is well manageable in a 4x4 at the moment, I reckon I even saw some scobies knocking around djouce in a landcruiser today.

Is Baz's yolk able to get out?
ie, a couple of 4x4's and/or electric winch? no the kid a favour, like... before some scoby thrashes it...

Yeah, but you would need to be clever about it as there are very few anchor points to tie the jeep with the winch to which you would have to do. If you tried to pull it with a winch at the minute you would just pull the winching vehicle towards Basils jeep.

Also there is a potential risk of the thing trying to flip completely as it is pulled out. If you fancy having a try at it with Basils concent of course I could probably bring along some chain blocks and rigging which we could use to stop it tipping.

Where is it? I might go have a look in the morning.

Between kindlestown and the back entrance to god . you cant miss it.

He told me this morning he had Kellys going up to get it. I'm not expert but I think it'll need a crane!

That's cool, save me an exercise. I assumed a tow wagon couldn't get to it.

Yeah Kellys will have trouble with it. You would manage without a crane if you had a little time. A mate of mine said he had to ratchet strap his toe truck to a tree last week to stop it getting pulled across the road. I suspect Basils is a tad worse its over a good 45 degrees.

Yea I'd imagine it needs to be lifted out alright, don't think you pull it out too handy!!

Cheers lads, Kellys told me they'd deal with it when they get a chance. I'm assuming as a professional recovery company they will be able to lift rather than just drag. At the moment there's zero grip on the lane (the reason this happened at all), so towing really isn't an option. To drag would be risky with the angle it ended up at, not quite 45 deg by my reckoning, but close. Could easily tip if moved the wrong way and it might move unexpectedly by itself once disturbed.

Not trying to whip it Fergal, you know I struggle with basic jumps, let alone whips! Just lost it at very low speed after coming over the little crest, steering and braking became useless on the ice and there was nothing to do but sit back and enjoy the fairground ride that the last 20 m became. And there ain't a lot of engine braking in an automatic!

Stew I have no doubt you'd find a way to overcome this little physics problem and I would trust you completely, but with the current conditions I wouldn't want to put you up to a rescue attempt. One has already failed with the lack of grip. I intend to see what Kellys say - they're to ring me when they get there and see it. If need be I will ask for further assistance then. Thanks for the offer though.
