deroura any use

howya folks,myself and a few mates were thinking of going to galway to do the deroura trails!!!just wondering if anyone has ridden them are they worth the journey etc?cheers:confused:

Oh yea, it's ok. Nothing too steep or technical, most of it is very easy to ride. If you're looking for a challenging trail that's probably not the best choice, however it depends how fast you ride it :)

ya its a nice little trail, its got some lovely wooden sections, one whole trail is boards. Its got a nice long climb at the beginning that leads to a long and fast downhill finish. I ride there whenever im staying in Oughterard which is about 3 times a year.

its not worth the drive if you're going just for that trail

Go at it fast and it's a lot of fun. Particularly the boardwalks.

Not worth a long drive, but if you're down that way it's a good mornings biking.

I was out there last weekend the trails were nearly un rideable because of all the rain we had it was like cycling on sand.

Its only 30 mins from me so its handy its nothing spectacular around 18k's first half is up hill and the rest is downhill not too steep but you can still go at them at speed board walks are leather in the wet lol. really depends how far away your coming from?

Only worth doing if you are going down there for the weekend - and not as good as anything around Wickla

that's out the window then perry ..doesn't sounds worth driving over from Dublin ..will have to come up with an alternative plan ...EAMO
