ballinastoe conditions

hey folks was up there today all is fine on the long loop until you get to the downhill after the long boardwalk it is quite bad condition in the forest loads of tree have broken and fallen on the track and its fairly rutted up all over the place it will need some maintance to be fully rideable again

Doesn't sound like bad value to me - lots of people have taken their first steps into mountain-biking in Ballinastoe! It's just a shame that they didn't put some sort of budget aside for upkeep. We'll know the Dafydd trail is completely destroyed when Richie starts using it for Tuesday XC Spins!

Is there any snow left on the track?

Has anyone been in touch with Coillte Outdoors about track maintenance in Ballinastoe or possible government funding or funding from the Irish Sports Council?

i think its a Tourism thing rather than a Sports Council thing..the Happy Fairy can let you know!

yeah there is on the really rocky bit after the long decent after the boardwalk(if that makes any sense) also there is lots of ninja bits of snow that but me into various bog holes so be careful
