Fantastic result for Adam today - 2nd in Masters! He was really flying, or at least he was when he lapped me! I really enjoyed the day! It would be fair to say that the course wasn't "technically demanding" (I deliberately rode the whole race with the forks locked out!) but hard enough none the less! Big Epic turnout and good craic as usual! Thanks to Jack and Max for the encouragement and bottles and Richie for the abuse!
XC NPS 3: Lady Nixon Park
Yea that was tough going, even though it's wasn't technical in the least, no where to rest on the course, forks locked out, kept the head down and just kept pedaling. Nearly didn't finish my legs were cramping so much on the last lap. Had a good little tussle with Daragh and then Steve and just couldn't keep up with Steve towards the end. Great result for Adam, well done. Cheers to Max and Jack for bottles and encouragement and also Richie for the constant slagging of my beard!!
Thanks to Brian, Max and Eamo for the pit work, the encouragement really makes the difference. Mr Byrne, the calling out of lap times and slags were great. Apologies to Shona for my bungled passing moves.

Well done Adamski the black horse of Masters and Cian and Shona for the 3rd places! It was great watching everyone from the sidelines for a change, looked like some of you weren't enjoying it too much but most had a good race anyway... some of you were enjoying it too much though, you should be pushing it harder!!

Enjoyed the day,good weather,and the Epic pitcrew of Jack and Max were great at shouting encouragement,as was Richie on the mic!!The course as already said was non-technical for the most part,but it was a fast racepace,which had me tired on the uphill bit on the last 2 laps.I had a very quite race,the faster vets flew on ahead of me,the slower vets dropped behind me,so I did'nt see another vet after lap 1!!Still had plenty of Masters and Experts passing!!On my last lap 3 Masters passed me in a group and dragged me along,caught up with 2 lads struggling and pushed myself hard to pass them thinking they were vets,turned out they were Experts,but I kept pushing,then caught 2 other lads,thought they were Vets and pushed my legs to bursting point to pass them,which I did,turned out these lads were in Masters.So killed myself on the last half lap and still didnt make up any more positions!!!LOL As usual I dont know where I finished,will have to wait till the results are up on the web,but I'd guess at 16th or so. Thanks as well to all the crew - Richie for entertainment (self concious? - yeah right!); Max, Jack & Cian for pit/bottle duty, the Burco, the PA for blasting out quality stuff all day. Though the Pavarotti afterwards from McConvey Central was good too.

i think it was one lap too many for everybody..thats not a criticism, just my opinion. I think XC to compete with other sports it has to hold the attention of the participants..its fair to say everybody except Matt Adair and Joey Felle had to give 100% attention all the way !
Another thing I am going to suggest to the oranisers is a Bikini lady with a Lap Board for each lap !!
