REC2 Mountain Rescue Fundraiser

I think someone was asking about this a while ago....Dublin Wicklow MR Team's annual Rescue and Emergency Care Level 2 (REC2) First Aid Course fundraiser is taking place in the Brockagh Centre in Roundwood on the 12th & 13th of June.

It's the full 2 day REC2 course with experienced instructors from the team. This course is regarded as the basic level for anyone involved in outdoor sports with splat potential. The most important thing is to get your mates to do it in case you go splat yourself....most of the instructors are both full team members and professional pre-hospital care providers (e.g. firemen, nurses, etc) so you'll be in good hands.

Cost of 150 includes a copy of the REC2 Manual as well as Wicklow’s finest Tea & Coffee. We have space for 24 – this fills quickly every year so don’t delay. You can register your interest by emailing the team at secretary@dwmrt.ie.

That's the weekend of our Glen of Imaal race, so this'll rule out a few of us, unfortunately.

I would like to do one of these courses, probably several others would too, so keep the info/updates coming.

Sorry about the conflict, there's always something on in Wicklow these days. I think some people have emailled in and not got a response yet, the lady in charge is up to her eyeballs but she'll be in touch. Assume you're in until you hear different.

If there's enough of you (10+, I'd imagine) interested send me an email and we'll look at organising another course when the racing season is over and the weather is ****e. We're lucky to get the instructors time for free for this one so it's a big ask for them but we'll see what we can do. Epic and MAD and the other mountain bike clubs are always very supportive of mountain rescue, even when we're getting in the way of uplifts
