Hope to see ye on the 7th!
Interested in the solo effort.......anyone here done something like this before?
I've done 12h orienteering MTB race but never laps. I would be interested in it as well but 60 quid is a bit steep for a race around the park (for me anyway) so I don't know...we'll see.
Enduro would be your man on this, although he would do it as a warm up to some other event starting at 8.30pm and probably cycle up in a tuxedo.....
:)

My last 3 weekends:

(1) Mourne Way Ultra Marathon... out AND back on the hardest marathon course I've run. Won it in 7:41

(2) Gael Force Cycle West 24 hour MTB race (Solo cat). Won it 31 laps (300km+).

(3) (last weekend) Wicklow Rogaine... 24 hour mountain navigation event in the Wicklow mountains... a bloody hard thing to do well. Won it (with Chris Caulfield, my team mate) by a 2000 point margin.

Tonight... won the IMRA trooperstown race.

Fook I'm knackered now. Really unsure about racing on Sunday. I need a break!

Anyway Oz, just go for it. 12 hours solo would be no problem for ya. Just pace yourself.
Sounds like a spin to the shops compared to that lot.....might just give it a shot
hey oz,

speaking as a recently gave up a 20 day smoking habit semi alcoholic overweight chancer, i managed a 10 hour solo effort at 10 under the Ben (10 hour laps race in Fort William). I'd pretty much only done one 5-6 hour training spin in the run up to it.

As long as you pace yourself properly and keep eating/drinking you'll be fine.

Chamois cream would definitely help too

Yes but remember that Eoin is not entirely human, he has one of those nuclear implants like the Iron Man..
Just a bit more information seeing as there is some interest - the course is bang on the money for this type of event. I've done 5 24 hour races in england where the courses varied from loads of really fun singletrack, to going round the sides of fields for most of the lap (boring). This is definately on the 'fun singletrack' side of things, it just keeps on going and going and going. I hope to put up a video next week. There will also be a pit area, as in F1 style, with each team getting an area beside the start finish area for doing their change overs.

If you enjoyed IMBRC's team relay - this will be similar but way bigger in scope.

This being the EPIC site, I'm trying to figure out what that's a double entendre for!
