i found out it belonged to one of the racers
he lined-up beside his owner - it was one of the early heats and he battered down the hill chasing the riders like they were sheep - feckin' gas

his name is gary, Ive met him acouple of times down there. sound man - he always has the dog. we got shots of him the day before the race [with the dog] and hes all over the footage, dog bootin down the hill beside him. it looks great. we were both in heat four and had a few tumbles. shame he hadnt got the dog - at least i could of blamed my spills on him gettin in the way :)
