MTB XC Tyres

Hi Guys

Lookin for recommendations for Winter tyres?
I have used Panaracer Fire Xc Pro, no problems and price is good 23 euros.
I have used these from start of autumn right through summer(nobbles wear down).....it works out cheap!!!
What else is out there??

Dont get the 2.1s they are way tooooo small

Way too small for what? XC?? Sure 2.1 is 2.1??

2.1 are perfect for xc any bigger are for all mountain or freeride

Maxxis tyre sizes are strange, the are smaller than most, a 2.3 ignitor is near a 2.1 in most brands.

Schwalbe Rocket Ron front and rear (2.25 - they tend to be a little narrow).

I run Rocket Ron on the front, Racing Ralph (2.1) on the rear year round - is there really much of a differenece between summer and winter anyway (this year being a bit of an exception).

I bought a set of 2.1's and they are like a 1.95. They are a good tyre but you need a 2.35. I just got one of these, going to test it on sat....

Need a 2.35 for what? For XC riding an Ignitor 2.1 is perfect!

Hey, all I am saying is I bought a set of Ignitors "exception series" 2.10 and they were a lot smaller than the 2.1 Kenda nevegals I took off the bike. The 2.1 nevegals were perfectly fine for XC.

bring those exception series right back where you bought them. Stay with the ordinary ignitors. thay are too light in my opinion, defo don't use them without a tube. I had one of those on my rear wheel and it burped right off the rim. I would have been a right mess if that was in my front wheel and i was going fast.

Thanks Ronan, sorry to say but I am glad someone else had issues with them, I used them during the summer and they were "ok" but as you say a bit lite...

So I think all ignitors are not created equal

the're ment to be a race tyre, they must be glued on to the rim. Dangerous i'd say.....
