holiday insurance

Hi
Any of you experienced travellers have any suss on insurance for the rock.
I have travel insurance but it does not cover races, doh.
it's more for me than the bike, or am i covered by the cycling ireland licence
as i paid for overseas etc.
also it may be possible that i'm covered by the event itself.
as I haven't a clue,
any help much appreciated.

Not sure Nipples, i have combined insurance of Ireland cover which covers all sporting events here and in europe. Why do you think they will cover you for wrecking yourself when your locked!!!

If you bin yourself, get someone to drag your body off the race track & remove your race number. that way, you fell off while spectating....

The ski club of Britain market a ski/board insurance product on their site which I use. It's advertised for winter sports only but they're actually reselling a general sports cover and if you check the allowed activities it actually covers lots and lots of other things including mountain biking.

They cover "recreational racing" whatever that means but you might need to check the small print to see if that's just for winter sports or for everything.

About 65 quid for multitrip cover for a year and about 20 per week for a single trip.

AA holiday insurance is competitive and covers mountain biking, but you have to call them and do it ove the phone to get the add on.

I reckon oninio, that it's the same as my one which covers mtb but not when racing.
I'd say yours is the same too daragh, only recreational use.
