Irish Mountainbike Magazine ?

Right, if a couple of Irish Mountainbike Legends started an Online MTB magazine like this one

What would you like to see and yes I think its needed and yes so does several other MTB Stalwarts..so unless you are at this as long I am, you can stick any negative comments where the sun doesn't shine..thank you very much, however any positive ideas or feedback would be welcome , also a talented Web Designer who wanted to help us , well now that would be a very welcome contribution.
WHat made me think about this was a couple of things, mainly though the success of Young Dan Sheridan.
Nobody has done as much abroad as he has this year as a Young Irish Sports person..yet no recognition whatsoever.
Then I was thinking about the XC Nationals..and even though I say so myself a World Class event.
And the Blast of course..
and so many other events and people who have earned no recognition and theres no where that co ordinates all the Offroad Cycling goings on.
So..either mail me your thoughts or PM me, if you are lucky enough to have that privelige or mail me

Hi Richie one way of setting it up better is to register a domain name, get a hosting co. To host it,and what my web designer did was install wordpress onto my server. The advantage is that the name sounds much more professional so mine is terrymcdonagh.com/blog. whereas before I had a more long winded name. and my web man was able to customise the look of it, so that it didn't have that template look with tiny photos.

i've already got that sorted Terence, i need Photos and some quotes..my first Article is going to be about the ROC..so some sensible but passionate quotes from yourself and the Roceurs please

Well it looks like the lads at Wideopen are using something called Issuu. There's a free version (it has some kind of advertisment in it) that you could use...

Hi just stumbled across your blog and it caught my eye. My advice is keep it simple as its the key. A friend of mine tackled the same problem with a crowd sourcing type soution and just did it as a PDF. Wonderfully simple, high production values, easy(er) to produce and everyone can access it... oh and its in 100,000+ downloads per issue. Everyone has moved onto other projects now but the mag is still ticking away. The less recent copies are interesting and has a worldwide fan base. http://www.candycollective.com/index.php?/magazine/

Production, editorial, design and web standards will strangle it as it grows and open source web software isn't without its bugs (its not free for nothing). Moderating content, farming new material and maintaining standards high enough for people to want to read is a lot of hard work and very time consuming (i.e. passion not profit).

Like the idea and its a goer, there is too much to go into on the blog, if you want drop me a mail and will meet for a spin and run through some ideas
