RL was missing from todays savage spin from Palmers-Djouce-Palmers.Loads of people concerned about his absense. Was he road racing in Navan with his new license, with Morty and Damo in tow??Did he sleep it out and miss the 9.20am start from the Golden Ball??Was in fact working hard on a moving job??.........Answer appears to be none of the above,he was in fact taking in a handy lonesome spin around 3 Rock!! This wont make you deadly in A4 this year Richard!!:):D LOL
Jeysus I didn't think anyone cared!!
To be honest I got the impression the Djouce spin was going to be a complete "creasing session" and I really believe that, for me, riding in oxygen debt for long periods is counter-productive (and any research I've done backs this up!). So I headed off on my own at 9am and did 50kms in just over 3.5 hours - Leadmines, Killegar, 3-Rock etc. Hard as I could on the climbs, recovering on the descents! Enjoyed it but missed the company!
The bottom line is that if Richie and the rest of the top guys are getting a good work-out (as they should at this time of the year) then the pace is going to be too fast for me! But don't worry I'm still very much around .....
whoever is telling you that is a moron..the only way to get better is to crease yourself with the group.
Alfie, Damo and Max didn't get to be uber savages without testing themselves against their peers.
you need more pain not less !!
Whats wrong with you people !!
I don't believe this sh1t..
Thank God i'm moving on at the end of 2011 because this concetration of slack jaw gooberism is giving me a freakin ulcer !!

That's exactly the point Richie ........... you guys are not my peers, I'm not even close!! I'll be a mid pack S3 and you guys are either very good S2 or even S1 riders. I'm not going to start quoting Joe Friel this and that but I know I've made real progress over the last few months (particularly in terms of leg strength and breathing management) by controlling my training and always following hard efforts with recovery periods. When I ride with you guys on a Sunday Savage Spin I never get to recover so I just get quickly pushed to exhaustion! The more tired I get the more mistakes I make etc, etc!
FFS I'm 50 years of age and I started one of the toughest sports in the world two years ago ......
Get away from me !!
I'm a year younger than you , i have had 2 or 4 lifetimes of abusing myself !! and now I am better than ever before !!
its all in your head !
If I ever meet Joe Friel I will stab him with his own c0ck !!
