galway blitz

any one doin this race:confused:

These races are more aimed at beginners,so not a lot of interest amongst most Epic members.

But if youre new to racing I'd certainly suggest you enter and do the Galway race.I did it last year,in fact it was my 3rd ever race,so go for it!Write up a report on here to let us know how you got on.All the best mate.

Did #3 of 3 out in Galway there yesterday. That course is a real slog across the back. I really took a beating from the constant loose shale, stoney covering that is most of the track. It seems to be one big climb for the whole lap.
Did a practice\warmup lap early in the day, lost me bollix on some of the boardwalk. Dum de dum de dum, this is lovely, la la la, up and down we go, WHOMP. Wheels are gone from under me, left, right, fall on bike, fall off edge, all momentum gets directed through my leg, into a log. Ow. Haven't had a decent fall in ages. Remember now what it's like. Vocalised my pain for a bit, then back on bike. Did race later, came 8th. Was hoping for a better result, being in with the babies and all that, and with no James O'C there to put me off.
I enjoyed that little get me back into it race series - 7th, 13th, 8th. Consistent enough I suppose. Looking forward to NPS. Need to figure out how to get up a hill at the start of a race though.

It always feel like you have take a beating when you come down after doing a lap they have improved some of the back section but most of it is very rough don't talk to me about the board walks I've lost count how many times the front wheels just goes wandering. Couldn't make it yesterday but it was a nice day down here for it.

did my first race yesterday in the baggies came in fifth . track really rocky was on a rented hard tail dont know if would be better off on a twin suspension hardest thing was not knowing the treck.if this race is only for beginners i need to put some work in.

It's a huge step from these to the NPSes, I would definitely try to make this Sunday's race if I were you guys just to get a taste of some serious racing.

wat are nps es are they for super pros .is there any categories for beginners.wat other races could i do not ready for a step up yet

There are 4 different cats based on ability, do S4 and you'll be fine. I don't think there will be any more introductory races this year.

eanna if you came 5th on sunday you will be well able for s4 in nps races

unlike some people that made a show of us !!

thats right imagine that abandoning a race just because of one puncture! unlike some who got three punctures and were given a tube by a man who was just out for a spin so he could finish !!

Whatever! that 4km walk back to the finish thought me thats its a good idea to bring more than a phone and van keys with me when i'm racing. The state you left the lad you robbed the tube in, 3 broken bones on his face and a black eye, your lucky he had memory loss too.......

I'm no sympathy for you pair of rednecks !! There was a savage spin on in Dublin that you needed to be on instead of faffing around in the West of Ireland trying to force yourselves on the local talent !
Those sheep over there don't even speak your language !

and you would know about the sheep seeing as most of the sheep rapists in wicklow are byrnes !!
