I like riding without a Camelbac whenever possible, but I can't ride without water, so if a bike does not have bottle cage bolts then its off the shopping list straight away.
So todays question is....
Would you buy an all mountain bike without bottle cage bolts?

Don..you definitely need a durty ride up against a stack of beercrates to sort out your mind !
I have an Ironhorse frame that has no bottle cage mounts. I use one of those side entry cages with a strap on bottle mount - you can get them in Halfords for 6 quid or something - nice and secure
The issue I have is that cos it's a full sus frame there is limited space - so I'm limited to a 500ml bottle, which obviously is not ideal for long spins
Of course there are solutions, don;t you know someone has dedicated a whole website to alternative bottle cage mounts...

Useless fuppin' things... I have a bucket of bottle cages at home that you can have Don... I'm sure you can sellotape one to your uptube.. or your sidetube or your sphincter muscle..
Camelback all the way.. Why..? Because you can carry much more water & go further as a result.. and because its a backpack you carry all your sh!t in one pack.. the spout is well out of the way of flying sh!t being thrown up by the tyres.. whereas bottles are right in the firing line..
I absolutely hate, with a passion, the fupping peripheral bullsh!t that people bolt on to (or gaffer tape) their bikes.. like bottle cages, saddle bags, pump holders attached to bottle cages and all that other useless junk...
For me its one pack... that holds everything... on your back and off you go..
Well I was looking at the Zesty which is a great bike all accounts, but like Andrew the lack of a mount did not impress. Do those Frenchies know how many sales they may be loosing?
No. I bought a Specialised Epic because I could get two bottles on it but only fitted one cage. I have a camel back but don't like using it, for the majority of spins a big bottle and old fashioned cycling jersey with pockets is enough for me, for an all dayer (if I was allowed) i'd use a camel back and bring some decent grub. Anyway on most epic spins I don't have time to take a drink! My daughter made me fit a kids cage n bottle to her pink BMX!

Gerry the Hacksaw is dead right..Camelbacks are brilliant..I use several, i have one for trail riding, fits every thing , including my camera, all my stuff and i never notice it. its a LOBO, i couldn't recommend them enough.
I have a Mule for the ALps and a massive yoke for Guiding..cop on to yourselves..
like the man says a bottle is down in the muck ! are you mad or what ?
I will also remind you that it does not slow Damo down one little bit or myself for that matter.
