Thinking about doing this on the weekend. Sleep over in Glendalough and Cycle Back in the Next day. Weather is promising so might be the best time.
Imagine some have done it, so any comments about the trail.. Is it possible to do it on one day or itâs a shot to far.
Got tired at the end of a 3hours / 32km spin last weekend with John. But would do it slower and stopping along the way.
Planning I can do it in something like 7hours.. 6 Hours Moving. 51km.
I am imagine the worst climb will be from Marley Park to Fairy Castle, and after that most of the way will be up and downs but not savage climbs after that.. it that correct?
I cycled from Marley to Glendalough last year, took about 4 hours going at a steady pace, it's all cycleable. There are a few other climbs that are tough enough, not just from Marley towards Fairycastle. There's alot of climbing from Crone towards Maulin and then from the river up towards Djouce. It's probably the toughest climb as you've covered a fair bit of distance by then and it's pretty steep going up in places. Its very do-able in one day so wouldn't worry about that.

NO theres a bit of a climb from the river to the shoulder of djouce
I'll be doing the whole WW solo but not until September. Marley to Glendo is nice, just pace yourself, eat and drink plenty prior and during the day and you'll be fine.
I did this last year, we travelled from Dublin to Glendalough and it took 7 hours, there was a strong headwind all the way but up to the shoulder of Djouce was torture, the last stretch from Djouce to Glendalough is a bit boring.
We did Ballinastoe to Dublin on good Friday this year, it took four and a half hours. We plan to do it again this weekend. Interestingly, the drop from the shoulder of Djouce to the river was magnificent. Enjoy

She's a cracker alright. Think it was last year we were doing night spins from Ballinagaystoe to the top of Djouce then all the way down through Disco Stu and beyond.
I remember doing this whit mad back in the day you where there Richie it was the first time I drank alcohol I think I knocked over a pint on you also that didnt go down well...think I still owe you that one haha
mario..its not that difficult to do in one day !! my God Brian, 7 hours !! I have done the round trip from home in 5 and a half hours !!
The Climb up out of the river valley is ferocious..
but if you find that hard going the road up to Scarr from Lough Dan is worse !
Max..are you ready some day for Kilmashogue to Glenmalure soon !! then home on the road !!
