Club course - HT no more

Well after tonights race the HT is getting mothballed. I always new the Trance was more fun, but thought to race it properly I needed a HT, so the experiment began. The HT is fun in a 'get the crap kicked out of you' sort of way and is unbelievably alive, Djouce is brilliant for it, but now I've decided that enjoying the race is more important, and once again I am catching and passing people and lashing though the singletrack. Of course I'm loosing on all the climbs but that's OK as overall the times are much the same. Tonight I also found that instead of wishing the race to be over, I was actually looking forward to every piece of singletrack, I'd forgotten how much I miss that.

Of course this is just me, every week the HT crew post insane times so I am not saying one is better than the other, horses for courses, but this horse is going bouncy from now on.
Funny, my experiences are exactly opposite. More fun, quicker and feel much better on a HT. But then my full sus is in appalling state at the moment and about 3kg heavier at least!
My 10:22 last week (with a bunch of mistakes - now that I'm a frickin roadie) was on a fully. On that type of course, they are just faster. I did lots of testing when I had light hardtails and for me, the fully was 10-15 seconds faster and a hell of a lot more fun and less harsh on the body.

The epic is particularly good with the 'brain' front and rear. Ask anyone who has ridden my or Mel's bikes.
now..I realise I am a crazy person and been at this longer than any of you but the Hardtail is the weapon of choice for real Mountainbikers.
Like the Samurai Sword, Aftershave, Chocolate, women in short skirts and cowboy boots,Iron Maiden, Pirates, All motorcycles, Clint Eastwood Movies they are gods greatest invention.
Full Sussers are for laziness , hangovers, fatally civilized people, people who haven't paid their dues and A4 roadies.
The EPIC Club course was made for Hardtails..being able to go faster on it on a full susser is obviously cheating..
I wrote the rules on a couple of stone tablets I was given by a burning gorse bush on the top of katygollagher.

You forgot one thing Ryan your fully weighs less than most hardtails so it's a no brain(er)front or rear.
Try it on a 30 lb bike and I think you will have a different experience

Of course, but a 30lb bike is not an XC bike... I have ridden the club course on HTs that are 8.5kg and my fully which is 9.3kg... Fully is faster. On some courses a HT would be faster, most 'Irish' courses, I would say the fully.

In the past, the sword was the best weapon for war... better weapons came along, if I was to wage war, I'll take a few nukes over a sword. Technology has changed...
wheres the honour in Nukes though..
you're definitely not getting on the next spaceship out of here !!
Who ? me or Turbones Sherlock !! is this your way of coming on to us ?which one of us do you prefer, him with his speed and endurance or me with the imagination, experience and the head strap on ?
one minute i'm reading the epic forum the next it seems i'm reading MBUK.... a fully....
