Trader's Cup Road Race
Starts: 1:00 pm
Ends: February 26, 2012 - 5:00 pm
Location: Dowdallshill G.F. & A.C., Dundalk

All Race Starts 1pm (Sign On Open from 11am – 12.45pm)
17 km Circuit with a long drag but no major climbs
Post-Race Showers and Refreshments are Available.

Race 1 – A1, A2 & A3 Riders (Handicap Race with 3 Groups)
85km (5 Laps) Cash Prizes for 1st 6, First A1, First A2, First A3 & First Clubman

Race 2 – A4 Riders
68km (4 Laps) Non-Cash Prizes for 1st 6

Race 3 – Women & Men Over 50
51km (3 Laps) Non-Cash Prizes for 1st 6

hi, for these road races, I don't have a race licence. i'd be A4 if anything. Can you just sign up on the day for a day licence?

You can get a 1 day licence number at the sign on I would say..

Yes, i'll head up to this Ro.

Yep, one day licences are always available - usually €10 + €10 entry! You may have to pay a refundable deposit for a number too!

Important - You won't be allowed ride in branded kit other than the gear from your own club! Bring some safety pins!

I'm going to head up for this unless it's pissing rain! If there's a decent entry for the Over 50s I'll do it but if not I'll go A4!

I'm heading up to this - they had me with the 'no hills' part!

**** me that was hard! Managed to hang in for nearly 50kms at an average speed of over 36kms/hr but dropped back a bit then for the rest of the race! Still 69.3kms@34kms/hr - well happy with that!

tough going today alright richard. them roadies do fly up the hills. every hill is a full on sprint. didn't have the legs for it today. working hard on the flat and shagged for the hills. dropped on the 2nd lap of five. caught the a3 group again sitting in with a2s for half a lap. that was a good buzz seeing an organised bunch at full pelt. all over soon enough after that

If the weather is as nice as today I'll do the Dublin Wheelers GP next Saturday, it's not handicapped and not as hilly as today's race.

Funny Max the weather was ****e in Dundalk - rained all race! I'll probably do next week as well!

The weather in Dublin was phenomenal, even warmer than yesterday!

Enjoyed my first road race a lot despite being tactically clueless! Will probably do Dublin Wheelers next week and a mtb spin Sunday.
