I wonder if there is a chance someone would share a CX bike this season - go halves on it so they can ride masters and I can ride sport (if such cat's exist in CX) so we both can use the same bike..

They do it for private jets so a bike must be possible!

Great idea Rob but you'll need to find somebody fairly handy to share with you! There are only two races at a Cross meeting - A and B! B is you and me ..... A is Robin etc!!!

Just do the B race on the hardtail. I am broke right now so thats what I'm gonna do.

going by the Pareto principle, I suppose I can have 20% of the bike and get 80% of the results?

bike timeshare ! this is an excellent idea , in theory - just like communism and trade unions but in reality a big bag of sh1t !!

It would all work out once you adhere to the clauses in the 25 page pre agreement contract..

I wonder if there is any new bike stores that would do cx rental for each race day or season..

yeah exactly, I think the small ones might not be interested but giant stores could probably do it?

CX is very seasonal, unlike MTB'ing...You basically need the bike for about 3 months out of the year!

Although a good CX bike can be your road training bike, or even race bike during the rest of the year... Lynchy trains on his Focus CX bike for example...
